Mindfulness: Beginning with being
A Jonathan’s Voice and IP Inclusive webinar
For Stress Awareness Month
Wednesday 29th April 2026, 12.30 – 1.30 pm, online
This webinar with Dr Sally Rose is offered in connection with Stress Awareness Month.
The theme this year is ‘Be The Change’ inspired by the Gandhi quote ‘be the change you want to see in the world’. It calls us to be active in looking after our minds and to discover how small changes can have a big impact in reducing the impact of stress and making space to live more fully.
This experiential session will take us through how beginning with BEING can provide a base from which to be the change we want to live.
Mindfulness practice centres on building our capacity to be present and to be with our experience as it flows and changes. When we engage with mindful attitudes and work with our attention, we see how thinking and attempting to do our way through life dominates. As stress and emotion tend to distort our judgement and push us to habitual often unhelpful reactions our thinking/doing mode of mind may not be best placed to help. By intentionally placing ourselves in the midst of our experience including our automatic reactions to whatever is going on within us and around us, we discover how mindful presence repeatedly offers a starting point to be active and to choose our responses. If we combine this with reflecting on what matters most to us and how we want to be, we can direct our attention and energy towards those things and take considered action in the right direction.
Sally will guide us and explain.  No prior experience necessary.
