The IP & ME Community focuses on ethnic minority IP professionals, although it is open to anyone in the IP professions who shares IP Inclusive’s values and objectives.

IP & ME works to the following mission statement:

  • To celebrate diversity and inclusion in the IP professions.
  • To support ethnic minority IP practitioners at all stages of their careers.
  • To assist and inspire ethnic minorities with the necessary aptitude and skill set to enter the IP professions.
  • To work with stakeholders in the IP professions and the wider legal profession to better understand and address issues around diversity and inclusion, with respect to ethnic minorities.

To help deliver on our mission statement, we aim to stage events which bring people together to discuss a range of issues concerning the IP professions. We also aim to create a diverse network directory to help identify practitioners interested in speaking at events, writing content or offering mentoring.

The IP & ME community is run by a small volunteer committee. If you have any questions about us, or would like to be more actively involved, please sign up to our mailing list, email us or contact any of the committee members listed lower down this page. Through the mailing list, we can keep you informed of community news and upcoming events, and more generally about issues and resources relevant to equality, diversity and inclusion in the IP professions. You can also keep up to date by joining our LinkedIn group, or following our LinkedIn page. We would love to hear from you, whether with questions, offers of help or suggestions for future activities.

The committee has recorded a number of podcasts that can be found on our resources page.

IP & ME statement of support for those affected by the Middle East conflict

The IP & ME team acknowledge the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and express our deep-felt sympathy towards the members of our community who have been affected by the ongoing violence. IP & ME remains a support network for anyone directly or indirectly impacted by the conflict. We do not condone any form of Islamophobic or anti-Semitic behaviour, and we hope that the IP profession can be a safe space for all individuals to seek support.

We recognise that members of our community may hold differing views about the conflict, but we remind everyone to challenge what they read and hear and be mindful of those who may have friends or family in the region.

Let’s stand together as a community and support those who may be affected. The IP & ME team are available at [email protected] if any members of the community would like to raise any concerns or issues or to seek support.
