An IP Inclusive and Jonathan’s Voice joint webinar to mark Movember

Β Imposter Syndrome, Self-Doubt and the Male Experience in IP: What Really Works?

Thursday 13 November 2025

12.30 – 1.30, online

Imposter syndrome is one of several ways to describe the negative thought patterns that can arise around work. These thoughts β€” often disproportionate to reality β€” can significantly affect mental wellbeing. By understanding the causes and learning practical ways to respond, we can reduce their impact and help prevent stress and burnout.

In this webinar, Darren Smyth will explore the causes of imposter syndrome and share some practical strategies for managing it. Rich Wells will then reflect on his experience of wellbeing initiatives aimed at men within the IP profession β€” highlighting what’s worked well, what’s been more challenging, and what the future may hold for this important area of focus.

Who’s it for?

This event is for all UK-based IP professionals who are interested in mental wellbeing. We don’t mind where you work, what role you play there or what career level you’re at. This is an important topic, which touches many and matters to all of us.

Bring a guest!

At IP Inclusive we want to reach as many IP people as possible. Why not invite a guest to watch one of our webinars with you – someone in a different role or at a different career level, perhaps; an ally or potential ally; or a colleague who’s not yet involved with IP Inclusive? They’ll be most welcome!
