Mental health, Webinars

A free webinar from IP Inclusive and Jonathan’s Voice
to mark Movember

Thursday 7 November 2024
12.30 – 1.30 pm

– Do you feel out of your depth if someone opens up to you about their mental health?
– Feel unsure how to respond?
– Concerned you might say the wrong thing?

In this webinar we:

  • considered what might be helpful/unhelpful when talking to a friend, family member or work colleague about their emotional wellbeing
  • learnt techniques for facilitating sensitive conversations
  • explored how to maintain appropriate boundaries.
The session started with a conversation with colleagues who have had some experience of mental health difficulties, looking at the things people said that were helpful and those that really weren’t. Barbara Lawton, from Jonathan’s Voice, then took us through some helpful ideas and techniques.

Who was it for?

This event was for all UK-based IP professionals who are interested in mental wellbeing. We don’t mind where you work, what role you play there or what career level you’re at. This is an important topic, which touches many and matters to all of us.Β

We invited people to bring a guest along too – someone in a different role or at a different career level, perhaps; an ally or potential ally; or a colleague who’s not yet involved with IP Inclusive.
