Through a Different Lens: walk through someone else’s life in their shoes
An IP & ME, IP Ability and Women in IP Lunch and Learn Event
Thursday 18 July 2024
12.30 – 1.30 pm, online
ED&I training sometimes provides a view that is disconnected from a person’s individual experiences. Each of us is unique, and each of our viewpoints in the workplace is different. If we open up and share our lens with people who are willing to look, we can uncover our own biases and gain awareness of the ED&I issues that impact someone else as their individual self. Looking through a different lens is important in understanding how we can be a better ally.
Attendees joined IP & ME, IP Ability and Women in IP to welcome Vandita Chandrani, as we looked through her lens and touched on several facets of ED&I that have impacted her.

Meet the Speaker
Vandita Chandrani is the associate general counsel, IP, at Elekta, a provider of precision radiation therapy solutions pioneering the use of AI technology in oncology care. She joined the IP profession by training in private practice before moving in-house to Procter & Gamble, working as a patent counsel and then as a senior patent counsel. Both within the consumer goods and healthcare industries, Vandita has demonstrated her skills in devising creative commercial solutions that satisfy all parties. She uses her deep understanding of IP to demystify the topic and provides clear guidance and options to the businesses she advises. Vandita is deeply passionate about diversity and inclusion (D&I) and is the D&I lead for the global legal team at Elekta. She is helping to develop understanding within Elekta of how diversity needs vary based on an individual’s context, and is working closely with the management team to develop a D&I strategy for the global legal team.
Who was it for?
These informal virtual get-togethers are for anyone, especially IP & ME, IP Ability and Women in IP supporters and allies. Whatever your role and career level, if you work near or with the IP sector, we would love for you to join us!
