Our Careers in Ideas Mentoring Hub, established in the autumn of 2021, aims to help would-be recruits navigate their way into the IP professions. Like everything else to do with Careers in Ideas, our ultimate aim is to attract a more diverse range of recruits into the IP professions. We want to help people access these fantastic careers when they might not otherwise have been able to.

However, like everything we do to support diversity and inclusion in the IP professions, it costs money. The platform we use, Mentorloop, costs around ÂŁ9000 a year, which makes up almost 10% of our annual budget.

So we are looking for generous supporters to help us out with a dedicated donation to keep the mentoring hub going for a specific period of time. Maybe you could support a month, or 3 months, or 6 months? Supporters are of course acknowledged on the Mentoring Hub landing page and in associated communications.

Mewburn Ellis and Kilburn & Strode support IP Inclusive

Mewburn Ellis were the first to step forward, supporting the hub from May to November 2025. This “season” (December 2025 to May 2026) Kilburn and Strode are kindly keeping us in business. We are incredibly grateful to both these organisations for supporting this important initiative in addition to their annual donations to IP Inclusive.

Kilburn & Strode say:

“We’re proud to be sponsors of the next season of the IP Inclusive Careers in Ideas Mentoring Hub, supporting the next generation of IP professionals and promoting inclusion across the IP community.

At Kilburn & Strode we are fiercely committed to Diversity and Inclusion both individually and as a firm. This has always been the case and we were one of the first signatories to the IP Inclusive charter, making a public commitment to supporting and promoting DEI in the IP profession. We also champion diversity and social responsibility, and give back through our Innovation for All Foundation which donates 1% of profits annually to charity.

We aren’t committed to diversity because it’s “good for business” or because it’s the “right thing to do.” We’re committed because it makes our firm a superb place to work.”
