South Asian Heritage Month: An in-person Book Club event

IP & ME are thrilled to invite you to their in-person “book club” event happening in both London and Birmingham on Thursday 8 August to celebrate South Asian Heritage Month and this year’s theme: “Free to be me”.
Grab yourself a copy of Chai Time at Cinnamon Gardens, Shankari Chandran (2022) and get reading! We will be discussing this novel over a selection of South Asian nibbles and drinks.
What appears to be a cosy read about residents at a nursing home in Sydney, Australia, soon presents itself as a retelling of the residents’ colourful histories and the trauma they experienced, with the storyline switching between modern day Australia and the Sri Lankan civil war.
