IP Inclusive Business Services Professionals is a community created to champion the people whose work underpins the success of every IP organisation. From operations, HR, finance, marketing, BD, IT, facilities, paralegals, project management, executive support, and everything in between, business services professionals are the backbone of the IP sector.

This community brings those professionals together—across firms, roles, genders, ages and career stages—to share knowledge, strengthen networks, and increase visibility. Everyone is welcome here, including allies who aren’t in business services but want to learn how to support and champion them. This community provides a space where business services colleagues can collaborate, develop, and be recognised as essential contributors to an inclusive, thriving IP profession.

We have a LinkedIn page where we share relevant articles, events and information, and a mailing list so you can keep up to date with our news and upcoming events. Our events include webinars on useful topics, virtual coffee dates to share experiences and ideas, and in person events.

This community is run by a small volunteer committee: see below. If you’re interested in joining that committee or taking more of an active role in the community, please get in touch. We’d love to hear from you, whether with questions, offers of help or suggestions for future activities.

We are working on building up a selection of useful resources. For now, you might like our YouTube playlist with recordings of our previous webinars.

Meet the community co-leads

Hannah Harding

Hannah is a patent paralegal working at Page White Farrer, joining the IP profession five years ago after telling the gentleman who interviewed her that she “loves a puzzle” and unknowingly describing the job in a sentence. She passed the CIPA IPPC exam in 2024.

Hannah was diagnosed with autism in 2025 and spoke on a CIPA and IP Inclusive panel this year discussing the experiences of neurodivergent women in the IP industry. She recently joined the IP Ability committee, and has also written for the CIPA Journal about life as a paralegal and the history of intellectual property.

Away from work, Hannah has done a slightly mad array of things including raising a baby kestrel and riding a Clydesdale horse across Dartmoor. With a knack for repeatedly finding herself a woman in male-dominated spaces, she is now a powerlifter and competitive archer.

Aimee Hardman

Aimee is a patent paralegal at Mewburn Ellis with 10 years’ experience in the patent world. Aimee fell into the world of IP (as most do) by accident and has become very fond of the technical oddities and constantly changing law that this is most likely where she shall stay. Aimee has passed both the beginner IPPC and EPAC exams and whilst the advanced IPPC exam beckons her, she has so far resisted its call.

Aimee is also involved in the Women of Mewburn Ellis Network (WoMEn) and finds her work uplifting and supporting women in the field of IP fulfilling but also increasingly necessary. Her passion for championing women also extends to the IP business professional world and is incredibly excited for the non-attorney side of IP to have a light shone upon them.

Outside of work Aimee is far less interesting than Hannah and enjoys reading and playing board games. She enjoys going to the gym and will be asking Hannah for powerlifting tips!
