An informal online get-together
to chat about all things (peri)menopause
Thursday 8 May 2025
12.00 pm – 1.00 pm
Supporting the (peri)menopause community
It’s time we talked more about menopause and perimenopause, and how to support one another through them. Join us for our next “Coffee Pause” coffee date-style gathering, open to anyone who wants to drop by and have a chat. It’s a safe space to talk about (peri)menopause without shame or censure, to share experiences as well as ideas for making our working lives more menopause-inclusive.
Our theme: Mental health and menopause
This month’s discussion theme is Mental health and menopause. Menopause and perimenopause are associated with several different areas of mental health, including mood swings, anxiety, anger, and depression. What mental health impacts have you experienced? What has helped with those impacts? What has worsened them? How do you cope with mental health impacts and continue working effectively? How do you support others who are struggling with the mental health impacts of menopause?
Who is it for?
Our “Coffee Pause” get-togethers are for everyone who works in the UK’s IP sector. All genders and all ages are welcome, as are people from all roles and career levels. You might be going through (peri)menopause yourself, or already have done so, or just want to know more for the future. You might be joining us to find out how you can support family, friends and colleagues who are going through (peri)menopause.
Feel free to invite a friend or colleague to come along with you – someone in a different role or at a different career level, perhaps, or a colleague who’s not yet involved with IP Inclusive. They’ll be most welcome!
Registration
This event is free. So are all our resources. We think it’s important to keep IP Inclusive on the right side of the paywall. That said, we do need money to keep the show on the road, so if you are able please consider choosing a voluntary donation ticket or donating via our Just Giving page. For more information – including about corporate donations – visit our fundraising page.
If you have any access requirements, please let us know at [email protected] and we’ll do what we can to help.
Important disclaimer
Please note that we do not offer medical advice at these events; we just exchange experiences and ideas. Everyone’s menopause symptoms will be different, so please seek specialist medical advice before undergoing any form of medical or alternative therapy, rather than relying on things you hear in informal discussions.
More events and resources…
We hope to organise more of these coffee dates throughout the year. Keep an eye on the IPause webpage for details of these and other upcoming events. We’ve also published a set of resources to help you find ideas and support on this important, but so long avoided, topic: you can download that here. And we’ve established a LinkedIn group for UK-based IP professionals who want to exchange news, views and ideas about the menopause: it’s a private group so just send us a request to join and we’ll do the rest.
