Regional events, Women in IP

Our North of England regional network, in collaboration with our Women in IP community, put on a panel discussion followed by the chance to network with IP professionals from around the north of England. We discussed flexible working with a diverse panel of speakers, topics including the benefits of flexible working – both to the flexible worker themselves and to their employer’s business, the challenges of making it work well, the obstacles to its introduction, and of course its impact on colleagues and clients. The panel was hosted at HGF’s office in Leeds, with live broadcasts to other cities across the north of England so that everyone could get together in person with their local colleagues.

The panel was chaired by IP Inclusive’s Lead Executive Officer Andrea Brewster and included:

  • Chris Burnett, Patent Attorney at Birkett Long LLP
  • Ruth Gawthorpe, CEO at The Smart Working Revolution and The Change Directors
  • Rachel Molloy, Consultant at recruitment firm Sacco Mann
  • Heather Scott, Partner and Patent Attorney at Gill Jennings & Every LLP

You can watch a full recording of their discussions here.

Registration began at 3 pm for a 3.30 pm start, with networking from 4.30 pm. The event was free and open to anyone who worked in IP, whatever their role.
