“Pride Month 2020: being out and proud in the IP profession” is the title of a series of blog posts that our Careers in Ideas team are creating for Pride Month this year. With the help of iPride, the IPO’s LGBT+ support network, and IP Inclusive’s own IP Out committee, they’ll be publishing personal stories every week of June 2020, each from an LGBT+ person who works in the IP professions.

The aim is to show that LGBT+ people can be free to be themselves in a profession that wants to be inclusive and welcoming for all. Nobody should have to hide aspects of their identity either to get a job in, or when they start work in, the IP sector.

The series begins with B’s story. B works in Internal Communications at the Intellectual Property Office, and reflects on their experiences on coming out to their colleagues. You can read their story here, and for future posts, visit the News pageΒ of the Careers in Ideas website.
