Networking opportunities
with AIPLA’s Women in IP

Thursday 27 April 2023, 5 & 5.30 pm BST
Leeds, London & Manchester

The American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA)’s Women in IP Global Networking events were in-person again this year. We were delighted, through our Women in IP community, to partner with the AIPLA to promote them.

There were three UK events: in Leeds, London and Manchester. All were free of charge and open to non-members of AIPLA.

The theme this time was Own Your Voice, as an encouragement for women to fill up their space and speak up their roles in the IP profession.

There were around 70 such events taking place around the world, with live link-ups between attendees in different cities.

The Leeds event

Time: 5 pm BST
Location: Page White Farrer, Platform, New Station Street, Leeds LS1 4JB

Page White Farrer were the hosts in Leeds, organising an event at their offices in Platform that showcased female founders from across Yorkshire and how they found their voice and established their companies in the region. Each speaker discussed their unique experiences and shared valuable insights gained throughout their journey.

The speakers included: Kelda Style, Partner and European Patent Attorney at Page White Farrer; Stuart Clarke, Director of Leeds Digital Festival and PARSE (Peer Advisory Roundtables for Startup Entrepreneurs); Becky Baker, CEO and Founder of K9Nation and a member of Platform Female Founder incubator; Danielle Platten, Founder of GoBubble; Georgia Halston, CEO and Founder of Halston Group; and Sarah Hex, Head of Deal Organisation & Partnerships at Mercia Asset Management PLC and Fund Her North.

Following the panel discussion, and a live virtual link-up to the other global AIPLA events, there was a Q&A session and a brief talk on IP and inclusivity. Attendees stayed on for networking, drinks and canapés afterwards.
