David Stone is a Solicitor Advocate, Notary Public and Deputy High Court Judge. Currently Global Head of IP at Allen & Overy, he specialises in trade marks and designs, and is the author of the seminal textbook “European Union Design Law: A Practitioner’s Guide”. He is also a Research Fellow of the Oxford Intellectual Property Research Centre. His career spans over 25 years in Australia and the UK, and he has been an out gay man in the IP law community over a period that has seen huge changes in LGBT+ inclusion and acceptance.
In this event, David talked about his life and career in conversation with Stuart Baran. Stuart is a barrister at 3 New Square. Called to the bar in 2011, he has appeared in a large number of high-profile patent and trade mark cases.
