The IP Inclusive working group for Men in IP presents

Holding it all together: balancing work, being present at home, and looking after yourself

Thursday 14 May 2026, 12.00 – 1.00 pm, online

What does it really take for men to keep everything going – delivering at work, being present as a partner or father, and still finding space to look after themselves?

Many of us will be familiar with navigating the joys and pressures associated with being a parent and working. It’s not always plain sailing, and many men carry the expectation to “just handle it”. At times the challenges of long hours and competing demands can lead to overload that can be hard to talk about – let alone manage.

The good news is there are strategies we can learn to help avoid burnout and stress. From simply knowing you’re not the only one going through the experience, to understanding healthy mechanisms to not just cope but thrive both at home and in the workplace.

In this session, Ted Bradshaw will explore the specific pressures men face when balancing career, family life, and personal wellbeing. He’ll share practical strategies to help you stay on top of things without burning out, along with honest reflections that many men will recognise but rarely voice.

We’re sure there’ll be a lot of terrific food for thought, and hope to follow up with a coffee date as well in due course.

If you’d like to submit any questions in advance of the event, please email them to [email protected].

Who is it for?

The event is open to everyone working in IP, across all roles and all genders. The focus of the event is the male perspective and we particularly encourage men to attend.

Cost and registration

This event is free, and so are all IP Inclusive’s resources. We think it is important to keep IP Inclusive on the right side of the paywall.

That said, we do need funds to keep the show on the road, so if you enjoy the event please consider contributing. For more information, visit the IP Inclusive fundraising page here.

Please register using the Eventbrite checkout below. If you have any specific access requirements, please get in touch and we’ll do what we can to help.
