We are delighted to announce the launch of a new training programme from Bnode, in conjunction with IP Inclusive and IP Ability. “Accessibility Training in a Digital Environment” will provide initial training on how to improve the accessibility of your website, social media posts, mailshots, blogs and even your PowerPoint presentations, online meetings and documents.
Bnode are offering to IP Inclusive Charter signatories a training package that includes two 1.5 hour online training sessions. These can be facilitated via Zoom, Teams or Google as you prefer, or in person training can be arranged for an additional cost. Each session will have time for Q & A so you can focus on what is most relevant to your organisation. The total cost is just £500. Please contact Bnode’s Managing Director Chris Naylor for more information.
IP Inclusive and Bnode have been working together since the beginning of 2023, working on webinars such as “Online, but not forgotten”, which examined the challenges that disabled (including neurodivergent) people can face when interacting with online content such as websites, registration forms and event access. Those challenges can impact on fair access to our profession and the work it does. Bnode also recently provided training to our executive team on the practical implementation of digital inclusive practices. Andrea Brewster OBE, IP Inclusive Lead Executive Officer, said “Chris’s training is fantastic value for money. He has helped us recognise simple things that we can change to improve the accessibility of our events, content and online comms – and empowered us to take action even using our limited resources.”
The training covered simple steps to take to make documents, presentations, mailshots and web content more accessible. Whether it is reducing file sizes, including alt text or optimising your web page for screen readers, improving your digital accessibility could benefit your employees and potential recruits as well as your clients. In two short sessions, Chris covered how we can make what we already do more accessible, what we can change to make our communication more accessible, and gave us ideas and inspiration on how to build accessibility into our website in the future.
