What’s the most effective thing you can do to demonstrate you’re a diversity ally? Won’t it be different for every under-represented group?
Help is at hand! We’ve collated a set of ten universal actions you can take as an ally, irrespective of the diversity or intersectionality.
These “Ten Actions for Active Allyship” were derived following our successful, inter-community panel event ‘Active Allyship’, held on 9th July. During the event, our panel reflected on what we have learnt from our 2023-25 series of allyship events and our 2024 Allyship Guidelines, working towards identifying ten practical steps for being a good ally. The final “Ten Actions” are shown below:

You can download your copy either as a PDF file or a screen reader friendly PowerPoint file. You can also download an updated version of our Allyship Guidelines, which includes these actions, alongside other minor updates.
Why not print a copy of these actions and pin them above your desk? Challenge yourself to take one action every day – you might be surprised at how easy it is.
Do also share and discuss them with your colleagues and display a copy on your staff noticeboard.
We’d love to hear how you get on!
