Our IPause community supports IP professionals who are going through, have gone through or expect to go through (peri)menopause, as well as people who want to support them. It began as a small working group and had already produced several popular events and resources before it transitioned to a formal community in February 2024.
Involvement in IPause is open to anyone who works in or with the UK’s IP professions, regardless of gender, age, role or career level. Except in certain special circumstances, all these people are welcome to attend our events.
We have a LinkedIn group and a WhatsApp group, which provide private sounding-boards for people about the symptoms of (peri)menopause and ways to tackle them. We also try to lobby for, and support, menopause-inclusive practices in the workplace. Our events include occasional “Menopause Matters” coffee dates – informal online discussion groups, usually on a specific theme – and webinars on issues such as lifestyle changes to tackle (peri)menopause symptoms and practical support at work. You can find out more about these below.
Be sure to sign up to our mailing list to be kept informed of all our news and upcoming events.
The IPause community is run by a small volunteer committee: see below. If you’re interested in joining that committee or taking more of an active role in the community, please email us. We’d love to hear from you, whether with questions, offers of help or suggestions for future activities. You can also email us if you’d like to join our WhatsApp “Menopause Chat & Rant” group.
We have a selection of podcasts you might enjoy on our Resources page, and you can watch recordings of our recent webinars on our YouTube playlist:
We’ve published a set of (peri)menopause resources to help you find ideas and support on this important, but so long avoided, topic. It’s a compilation of sources of information and reading materials, intended as a “living” document with regular updates to reflect knowledge and experiences shared within the IP Inclusive community.
We try to record all our online events. The recordings are available via the individual event posts (see below) and also the general IP Inclusive resources page, in case you missed the live event or want to revisit it later. Usually we publish an event report too: again, see the cards below.
Also take a look at our mini-series of menopause “stories” – collected recordings and blog posts in which IP professionals share their experiences of (peri)menopause in order to reassure and inspire other people.
