Our annual update and planning event
Tuesday 26 April 2022
10 am – midday
Our 2022 annual meeting coincided with World Intellectual Property Day. What better way to mark that day than to be planning how to make the IP sector a better place for everyone?
As in 2021, this was an informal virtual round-table open to all IP Inclusive supporters in the UK’s IP sector. It included updates from our communities, regional networks, Careers in Ideas task force and Mental Health First Aiders’ Network, and a discussion about IP Inclusive’s plans and priorities for the next twelve months. We used breakout rooms for some of the time, so everyone had the chance to be heard: delegates came armed with bags of valuable feedback and ideas!
The IPIM Annual General Meeting
The meeting also incorporated the formal AGM for our governing body IP Inclusive Management (IPIM). This was a useful opportunity for delegates to meet the IPIM team, as well as their new Advisory Board, and find out how they keep IP Inclusive focused on its objectives.
Chaired by Michael Silverleaf QC, the IPIM Chair, the AGM was held in public in accordance with IPIM’s constitution. The IPIM members present approved IP Inclusive’s 2021 Annual Report and the 2021 Financial Report it contained. They also elected IPIM’s three officers for 2022-23: Michael Silverleaf as Chair, Julia Florence as Secretary and Gordon Harris as Treasurer. The minutes are available here.
Attendees
This event was open to all UK-based IP professionals. That includes business support professionals working in IP sector organisations or departments. It doesn’t matter what type of organisation or department you work in, what role you play in it or what your career level – when it comes to planning what IP Inclusive does, all your views matter!
Meeting papers & follow-up
The agenda and other relevant meeting papers are available via this link. They include collated notes from the breakout discussions. We hope to publish recordings of the plenary sessions soon.
Cost
This event was free. So are all our resources. We think it’s important to keep IP Inclusive the right side of the paywall.
That said, we do need money to keep the show on the road, so if you enjoyed the event please consider contributing to our 2021-22 fundraising campaign. For more information – including about corporate donations – visit our fundraising page here.
