A free workshop with Focal Point Training
Tuesday 13 April 2021
4 – 5.15 pm
What was it about?
The last year has been full of challenge but it has also brought learning and positive change. As restrictions start to ease, we all have a unique opportunity to think differently about how we work.
From more flexible working to increased use of technology – we will need to think about what changes we want to take with us, what the implications are for how we communicate and sustain our culture and what the challenges are that we will need to work through.
Stella Chandler of Focal Point Training used their RESET model to help us think about what we need to consider and how to get the conversations going with our teams. Focussing on the first stage of the model – “Review” – she explored with us how to take stock, harness the positives and identify what to build into future ways of working.
Who was it for?
This workshop was open to all UK-based IP professionals and would have been particularly useful to people in management, leadership or HR roles.
About Stella Chandler
Stella Chandler has worked as a trainer, facilitator and coach at every level in a wide range of organisations, including government departments, private sector and not-for-profit organisations. She draws from a wealth of experience including 15 years in the Metropolitan Police Service, where she was the first civilian HR and Training Manager, and 3 years in the Internal Conduct and Efficiency Branch investigating the full range of misconduct and under-performance issues.
With co-director Tracy Powley she has run Focal Point Training since 2001, specialising in helping organisations tackle inappropriate behaviour at work. She is a fellow of the CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personal and Development) and a Trustee of the Institute of Leadership and Management.
Stella and her colleagues at Focal Point have led popular workshops at a number of IP Inclusive events, including our February 2018 workshop on “Managing inappropriate behaviour” and a session on workplace banter at our 2020 diversity conference. They have been frequent contributors to our News and Features page and they created the “Steps to Inclusion” D&I review that’s designed to help our Charter signatories audit and shape their D&I strategies.
