Recent developments across the globe suggest there may be trying times ahead for those of us who care about equality, diversity and inclusion. Please stand firm: those things still matter, and IP Inclusive will continue to fight for them.
There are in particular a lot of people who are feeling vulnerable right now. They may feel frightened, miserable, isolated, angry. Allyship from those in less vulnerable positions is more important now than ever. We urge all our supporters to reach out to colleagues and friends to check they’re OK, to show them kindness, and to be vocal and visible in standing up for what you know is right. Tolerance and an open mind are key; they define our humanity.
Let’s stand together – and we are really good at that – to uphold the right of every person to respect, dignity and equal opportunities. Let’s support one another in the way we would choose to be supported ourselves. And let’s make sure that, whatever is happening elsewhere in the world, the UK’s IP professions remain a safe and welcoming space for everyone.
